Ford & Toyota to develop hybrid systems independently

A1_20120202073424_JPGDEARBORN, Mich. - Ford and Toyota will no longer develop hybrid technology for trucks. The companies agreed to the partnership two years ago when both CEOs bumped into each other at an airport. These current systems don't have enough power for trucks. Ford says it wants to offer hybrid systems for trucks by the end of the decade. Meanwhile Ford has announced it's hiring 800 more salaried workers in U.S. Ford is expected to hire engineers and computer specialists. The company reports it lost 13,000 salaried workers in the U.S. back in 2006 and 2009.
