Kate Middleton Is Now Feeling Well Enough to Drop Off Prince George at School

The Duchess of Cambridge is still battling morning sickness during her third pregnancy, but it’s apparently abated at least a little.

In September, Prince George started school at Thomas’s Battersea in London, but his first-day-of-school pictures featured William dropping off his son alone, because the Duchess of Cambridge, who had just announced she was pregnant with her third child (due in April), was too ill with morning sickness to be there.

At the opening of the annual School Leaders Forum, run by the children’s mental-health charity Place2Be, in London, Kate revealed in passing that she is now able to attend those early morning drop-offs for 4-year-old George.

“As a mother, just getting used to leaving my own child at the school gates, it is clear to me that it takes a whole community to help raise a child,” she said, as quoted in People. “Whether we are school leavers, teachers, support staff or parents we are all in this together.”

Kate has a history of dealing with morning sickness during her pregnancies. When she was first pregnant with George in 2012, the young mom was hospitalized at King Edward II Hospital with what was reported to be “a severe bout of morning sickness.” This is also known as a condition, hyperemesis gravidarum, that has continued into her most recent pregnancy.

Wearing a plum dress by Goat, Kate spoke to the importance of providing adequate mental-health care in schools, which is closely related to Heads Together, the mental-health campaign she champions with Princes William and Harry.

“Collaborating with experts like yourselves, we’re looking at providing easy access to information and practical tools to support teachers, parents and children feel comfortable talking about their mental health,” she said.
